At the time, international connectivity was heavily dependent on submarine cable systems terminating in Sicily, creating a concentration of both capacity and resilience risk. To support long-term growth, GO required a solution that could: - Diversify international connectivity beyond existing routes. - Increase available international bandwidth. - Improve network resilience and business continuity. - Support growing enterprise and financial services demand. - Reduce international transport costs while enabling future expansion. The new route delivered native 100Gbps connectivity, replacing previous 10Gbps limitations while providing significant geographic diversity and additional international capacity.
