How Console Connect and Digital Realty are simplifying global connectivity for cloud, AI and data-intensive workloads

Digital Realty partnered with Console Connect to address a growing challenge faced by enterprises worldwide: how to keep pace with the massive surge in data volumes driven by cloud adoption and emerging technologies like Generative AI. They recognised that traditional connectivity models can be too rigid and complex to support the scale, speed, and security modern workloads demand.

By bringing together Console Connect’s automated Network-as-a-Service platform (NaaS) with Digital Realty’s open orchestration platform, ServiceFabric®, on global data centre platform, PlatformDIGITAL®, the partnership set out to provide enterprises with greater agility, cost control, and security when connecting across data centres, clouds, and ecosystems.

Building on their initial collaboration in 2022, Console Connect and Digital Realty achieved a major milestone in 2025 with a full API integration. This integration extended ServiceFabric®’s reach to more than 700 data centres and 290+ cloud on-ramps, enabling enterprises to provision secure, private, and on-demand connectivity at a scale not possible before.

Challenge: Meeting the demands of GenAI and cloud-driven data growth

The rapid adoption of Generative AI and the migration of mission-critical workloads to the cloud are driving unprecedented volumes of sensitive data through networks.

For enterprises, this presents new challenges:

300dpi_cloud-1

Managing WAN complexity as workloads become more distributed across clouds and regions.

300dpi_Performance

Maintaining performance and uptime for data-intensive and latency-sensitive applications.

300dpi_Incentives

Containing costs, with rising cloud egress charges and rigid long-term contracts impacting budgets.

300dpi_Configure

Scaling rapidly and securely in response to fluctuating workloads.

PlatformDIGITAL® is designed to enable customers to deploy, connect, and manage critical data infrastructure, while ServiceFabric® extends this platform with an open, on-demand interconnection fabric that provides visibility, automation, and control for hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

Although ServiceFabric® already enabled secure, scalable, and efficient interconnections for enterprise customers, Digital Realty was looking for ways to extend its global reach and enable customers to connect across more locations and networks through a single interface.

Solution: Two global platforms, one seamless ecosystem

To address this challenge, Console Connect and Digital Realty joined forces to integrate Console Connect’s automated NaaS platform with Digital Realty’s ServiceFabric®.

In 2025, the two companies achieved a major milestone by completing a full API integration between their platforms to improve service provisioning.

How API integration streamlines service provisioning:

  • APIs allow NaaS platforms like Console Connect and Digital Realty's ServiceFabric® to deliver end-to-end service provisioning across networks without manual intervention.
  • API integrations automate processes such as provisioning, pricing and scaling - and make it easier to expand network reach.
  • The partnership between Console Connect and Digital Realty demonstrates the significant potential of APIs, proving how they can enhance customer experience, drive efficiency and reduce cost.

Now, ServiceFabric® users can seamlessly access:

  • An additional 100+ third-party data centres with many in high-growth markets across the Middle East and Africa.
  • 75+ new cloud on-ramps, expanding reach to leading cloud providers.
  • Console Connect’s full portfolio of services, including CloudRouter®, Edge SIM, point-to-point Layer 2 services, and Internet On-Demand.

Together, the two platforms combine ServiceFabric®’s open interconnection capabilities and visibility with Console Connect’s high-performance private network and automated provisioning. The result is a joint ecosystem that offers customers both breadth of reach and depth of performance.

The availability of Console Connect on the ServiceFabric™ Service Directory provides Digital Realty customers with on-demand access to our full global ecosystem, while enabling Console Connect users to seamlessly interconnect to more Digital Realty locations worldwide. Console Connect shares Digital Realty’s vision of building a more open and interconnected digital ecosystem, and this collaboration further demonstrates how APIs are unlocking new value for service providers and their customers.”

Results: Driving enterprise agility and efficiency

The integration of Console Connect and ServiceFabric® is already transforming how enterprises deploy and manage infrastructure:

  • A Hong Kong-based global manufacturer deployed a compute and network PoP at Digital Realty’s SIN12 facility. Facing WAN complexity across Indonesia, Singapore, and Hong Kong, the customer used ServiceFabric® and Console Connect to provision ports and establish virtual cross-connects in just 15 minutes. This speed was achieved through ServiceFabric®’s on-demand connectivity fabric, complemented by Console Connect’s global automated network reach. This reduced provisioning times by 99% and enabled on-demand private connectivity, cloud access, and disaster recovery.
  • A multinational manufacturer expanding into Indonesia leveraged ServiceFabric® and Console Connect to connect offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, and its new Indonesian factory. By leveraging the ServiceFabric® interface for provisioning and Console Connect’s automated network, the customer bypassed carrier hotels to achieve lower latency, cost savings, and access to a broader ecosystem of partners.
  • One customer provisioned a 500Mbps dedicated circuit to AWS via Console Connect’s API, with billing automated through Digital Realty, demonstrating the real-world benefits of API-driven service innovation.
Console Connect and Digital Realty offered Azonne a seamless, one-stop solution for our networking needs. Setting up Console Connect via a ServiceFabric® port at our existing data center location was incredibly easy, and this collaboration has enabled us to interconnect effortlessly with other data center locations, internet exchanges, and office sites across Asia."
